More funny fields of TX

Another great landmark on this short stretch of route 66 Caddy Ranch
I have to admit they plant funny things here in Texas,

but hey look, they multiplied hu?

Ok these are still on private property outside of Amarillo, in 2007 (I think) they were painted pink for breast cancer awarenes, and I am not too sure about the year but the owner dug these suckers up and replanted them further from the freeway, because the artistic value was being lost with them so close, so ... he moved them back a little further on his property so now there is nothing on the horizon, but tumble weed and dust.

Dont think for a minute that Norm wasnt there!

Infact Princess got to enjoy this one too!!

There is actually anotherfield we didn't makr it to this time, but we will hit next time, it is the combine farm... there are 12 of them! in the dirt... How CRAZY... but how fun..

The TACKY,yet tasteful Texas

But I guess it is hard to miss driving route 66.

what you miss in the pictures, there were thousands of parchisie like jewel pieces glued to the windows of the front door. hmmm among other crazy like tacky things... like the colors...lets just say our HOA wouldnt let that fly!

There are some odd farms in TX

So you have got to think this is a little odd. There are 4 VW bugs growing from the ground near Amarillo, a little odd but entertaining none the less. there was even a sign that encouraged passers by to sign a bug, I wonder how many people have signed them?And there is the famous Norm too! What a fun trip...

A year ago when we passed it, it was blue,

but we knew we needed to stop and take advantage

Craving TX Beef

We of course had to take norm with us to the steak house,

it was so nostalgic... even the take out box had a Texas on it!!!

Talk about Pride! And a great waitress holding our dear norm.
Ok, well you can pick your Norm,

and you can pick your nose,

but I cant be responsible if norm picks Your nose!

I did say that we have grown up a little in those 20 years didn't I?

Fun Times around the "red truck"

What can I say it is a family thing!

we love our red trucks.

We found the BEST steak fingers in the world,

I know thats a bold statement, But Man are they Wonderful!!

Charcoal house San Angelo, TEXAS! mmmmmmm

This old house

So this old house may not look like much,

but it holds many memories for me,

memories of my childhood.

The smell of my grandparents house.

The pecan trees, the toy box full of toys, the creeky floor when you run across it,

The naps(that I would appreciate now) .

Brings back memories of my grandmother and I making Dirt cake for the family.

What a suprise that was when she pulled that fake flower

from the pot and started serving "dirt" to everyone. Riding on the back of the tractor at the farm and playing with the cousins in that old trailer in the yard.

And my youngest uncle trying to scare the girls away, with his latest halloween mask.

Ok so it has been like 20 years since all these things took place, and I guess we have all grown up... well atleast a little bit since then.

I am so excited that even with us being so far away that my children get to experience a little bit of this. All though the farm in Bronte is not in the family anymore, there are plenty of memories to be had at this little house.

The little one is looking for "acorns" to crack and eat in grandaddys yard.

(She is looking for pecans)

And munch... Well he loves to put together parts, and things.

What a cool "fort" this is. Cousin Drew helped build it.

Vroom vroom... chugga chugga Fun Fun Fun!!
